Frantisek Piskanin, Owner and Chairman of the Board of family holding HOPI was born March 17 1947 in Stanovice, Karlovy Vary. Till 1989 he worked in agriculture, then in 1992 founded a family business HOPI, which in 90ties cooperated closely with supra-national chains when expanding to Czech Republic. By its own development and making own know-how soon became one of the most important logistic companies in Middle Europe. Nowadays HOPI operates in Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and Romania and owns mass dry storages and mass refrigeration plants . Part of the HOPI holding is Hollandia and Farma Otrocin.

Frantisek Piskanin, member of Rotary Club in Karlovy Vary, is a member of Academic Board of University of Economics in Prague and lectures as a host at the universities. He founded Jarmila Piskaninova Foundation. He supports scientific projects and research, he is a Maecenas to many sport and cultural events, as well as he promotes culture and traditions of Czech nation and he is an active member in many clubs and associations. In February 2013 Frantisek Piskanin received an award EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2012. In October 2016 he received State Merit Award for economy development from the President. He has two sons David and Martin.

Gala Evening in Grandhotel PUPP is a celebration of life anniversary of Frantisek Piskanin as well as of a significant anniversary of HOPI.
